Overview

Picsello understands that managing your business finances was probably not on the top ten list when you decided to become an independent photographer. That said, it is a crucial aspect of running a successful photography business and while Stripe is a great resource for online payments, there are often offline payments that need to be managed as well.

The initial release of Finances focuses on transaction reporting that will help you manage all payments for sessions and gallery orders, whether online or offline, in one comprehensive view. What’s even better, we’ve designed this feature in typical Picsello fashion— to minimize the overwhelm and make the process as intuitive and user-friendly as possible.

Note: Previously, Finances was where you went for setting up Stripe, taxes, currency, and enabling payment types. That has now been renamed to Payments and can be found in Settings within the sidebar navigation.

Step-by-Step

Step 1:

Navigate to the Finance section in the sidebar navigation.

Step 2:

Once you navigate to the page, you will see all transactions related to jobs and gallery orders you have processed via Picsello.

You can filter transactions by specific date, search for a specific client or job using the search bar. Additional parameters to sort by are:

  • Type - Gallery order, Job payment, Job retainer

  • Source - Stripe and offline transactions

  • Status - Overdue, paid, and pending transactions

  • Sort - Highest, lowest, newest, and oldest transactions

The report in-app allows you easy access via a quick click to dig deeper into specific transactions, order details, and more through Actions, hyperlinks, and pop-up modals.

Step 3:

Using the Export button, you can easily download a CSV file of your filtered transactions—a format that is compatible with most spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Google Sheets, and Apple Numbers. You can also easily import the CSV file into QuickBooks if you use that for managing your business finances.

Conclusion

This release of Finances is the first step to helping you more effortlessly manage your photography business. You can look forward to future updates that will offer payment forecasting to provide you with a more comprehensive view combining past and future payments, to empower you even more.
