Common questions regarding Emails

Updated over 3 months ago

I can't upload attachments to my emails

As you have noticed with our email system we do not allow attachments - this is for many reasons

  1. Google tends to mark emails with attachments as spam and your clients miss those emails

  2. If you raise prices your clients have those old attachments and it is harder to raise prices for them

  3. Having them on your website helps your SEO!

Client emails are going to spam

The Picsello team has implemented necessary measures to comply with the February 2024 updates to Google & Yahoo's email sender guidelines aimed at enhancing platform security and reducing spam for personal accounts. And we remain vigilant in monitoring any future updates from Google and Yahoo to ensure ongoing adherence.

We have also updated the confirmation modal lead's will receive when they submit via your lead form:

In addition to our efforts, there are some things you can do to help minimize the risk of emails to Gmail and Yahoo accounts being marked as spam:

  1. Encourage clients to check their spam folder for emails from {{your photography business name}} and [email protected]. Have them mark it as 'not spam' and move it to their inbox.

    1. This is important as the new spam filters learn that these emails are “good” and safe to end up in inboxes.

  2. Consider texting or DMing clients to let them know you have sent them an email proposal or their gallery. This will ensure they are on alert and can check spam as noted above.

  3. Consider adding your email, via cc or bcc on outgoing emails you send to clients to help with confirmation of delivery. Again, consider doing this for any manual email automations.

  4. Some other tips related to content:

    1. Avoid using punctuation such as exclamation marks in your subject lines. This includes your email automations and any one-off emails you may send your clients

    2. Make sure you aren’t using improper terms/verbiage (spam filters check for nonsensical words)

    3. Don’t overuse formatting, color, and images. A lot of the emails spam filters block are phishing emails that overtly try to trick people with over-the-top usage of the aforementioned

    4. Focus on providing relevant and helpful content vs. being 100% focused on sales
